ONKYO ANNOUNCES TWO NEW MID-RANGE A/V RECEIVERS WITH ‘TX-NR676’ AND ‘TX-NR575’

Company Also Reveals Dolby Vision™ Compatibility Coming to 2016 Select A/V Receivers

Immense dynamic power and crystal clear sound define the performance of Onkyo’s new mid-range A/V receivers: the TX-NR676 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver and the TX-NR575 7.2-Channel A/V Network Receiver.

The company also announced that Dolby Vision, an imaging technology that delivers a stunning visual experience, is coming to the company’s 2016 lineup of network 7, 9 and 11-channel models, ranging from the TX-NR555 to the PR-RZ5100, via a firmware update scheduled for later this year.

The 170 W/Ch (6 Ohms 1kHz, 10% THD, 1 channel drive) or 100 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven, FTC) TX-NR676 and the 140 W/Ch (6 Ohms, 1kHz, 10% THD, 1 channel drive) or 80 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven, FTC) TX-NR575 feature Dynamic Audio Amplification that produces high current through low impedances to precisely control speaker drivers.  Proprietary non-phase-shift amp circuitry assures imaging clarity with low distortion, even at high volumes and with all channels driven, resulting in thrilling and immersive surround-sound.

Combined with a 32-bit DSP chipset, high-quality AK4458 384 kHz/32-bit DAC, and proprietary VLSC™ filtering, the receivers maximize Hi-Res Audio formats such as DSD 5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz*1 and PCM 192 kHz/24-bit formats to their fullest potential and enable bit-perfect Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™ decoding for object-based theater surround-sound.

Both receivers come with Dolby Surround and DTS Neural:X™ up-mixing solutions that recreate an object-based experience from legacy multichannel formats in environments where height channels are employed.  AccuEQ Room Acoustic Calibration features AccuReflex technology for phase-matched sound with Dolby Atmos-enabled elevation speakers. The result is exceptionally clear reproduction.

On the video side, both models support HDMI® pass-through of HDR10 and Dolby Vision™, the BT.2020 4K Standard, and 4K/60 Hz video. The TX-NR575 has six HDMI inputs, while the TX-NR676 has six rear inputs plus one front HDMI (6+1) for video camera connection.  On the latter model, Main Out and Sub Out HDMI can connect a projector and TV display simultaneously.

The receivers come with Chromecast built-in*2 and DTS Play-Fi®*2, and ship with Spotify® Connect for easy streaming with compatible apps.  Pandora*3, TIDAL*3, TuneIn*3, and Deezer*3 offer a wide choice of content that is easy to navigate and enjoy from within the Onkyo Controller. You can also stream music from your device via AirPlay® or Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Both units feature FireConnect™*4 powered by Blackfire, a multi-room audio technology operating over 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi® that distributes network and connected analog audio sources to supported wireless speakers, such as the upcoming Onkyo NCP-302.

Powered Zone 2 speaker outputs give the option of amplified audio distribution to speakers in another room, and the TX-NR676 adds bi-amp-ready outputs for front L/R channels.  Zone 2 line out is included, and multi-zone audio is managed via the Onkyo Controller.

Other features include pairs of component and composite video inputs each with 480i/p de-interlacing, six analog audio inputs, a phono input, three digital audio inputs (two optical and one coaxial), and a USB input.

The TX-NR676 and the TX-NR575 will be available in May for a MSRPs of $649 (USD)/$849 (CAD) and $549 (USD)/$799 (CAD), respectively.
