PMA Research, the worldwide market information experts on front projectors, has posted their most recent Projector Tracking Service results to the “Top-Selling Projectors” area of their Web site.
For more than 25 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading U.S. projector dealers, retailers, Web resellers, and distributors. Their <http://www.pmaresearch.com/services/monthly-channel-sell-through/> Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:
4K UHD Projectors - This “Top 5″ list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers, Web resellers, and custom installers. For 4K UHD projector sales, Optoma had a trio of projectors make the “Top 5” list in March. The UHD50 was the month’s best-selling 4K UHD projector, and their UHD60 and UHD51ALV came in third and fifth, respectively. BenQ took the number two spot on the 4K UHD “Top 5” list with their TK800. ViewSonic rounded out this March list with their PX747-4K in fourth place.
Laser-Phosphor Projectors - This “Top 5″ list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of Pro AV dealers and systems integrators. In the Laser-Phosphor projector segment, the March results showed Maxell (Hitachi) in the number one spot with their LP-TW4001. Epson had a trio of PowerLite projectors make this “Top 5” list with the L610U, L510U and L400U coming in second, third and fifth, respectively. Sony rounded out this March “Top 5” list with their VPL-PHZ10 taking the fourth spot among laser-phosphor projectors.
Mainstream Professional Projectors - This “Top 5″ list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of IT, Pro AV, and CEDIA distributors. Among Mainstream projectors (between 1,000 and 4,999 lumens), Epson nearly swept the “Top 5” list in March. Three PowerLite models - the 109W, 107 and X39 -- came in first, second and third, respectively. Epson’s BrightLink 685Wi took the fifth spot. NEC’s NP-ME331X rounded out the March Mainstream projector list in the fourth spot.
