Sharp Plans Launch For The United States In 2021

January 6, 2020

According to reports, China’s Foxconn, the majority owner of the Sharp Home Electronics Company of America (SHCA), CES 2020 will not be used to launch a new Sharp branded television line in the United States this year. The company plans to reassess its business plans for a consumer product line launch in the United States. In the meantime, Sharp will continue to manufacture and sell professional displays in the B2B (Business to Business) market.

While Sharp will have a presence at CES 2020, the TV displays shown will be advanced technology statements or products planned for release in Japan and other regions of the world.

China’s Foxconn is now the majority owner and in full control of Sharp, replacing Hisense as such. Hisense previously acquired the licensing rights to the Sharp TV brand from Japan’s Sharp Corp.
