Sonus faber NEW Gravis III Subwoofer

The New Gravis III is the latest addition to the Sonus faber Gravis collection of active subwoofers dedicated to the reproduction of low frequency, designed to match all Sonus faber full-range loudspeakers collections. The Gravis III is the intermediate model among previous products in the Gravis collection, completing the Olympica Nova line introduced in September of 2019. The Gravis III will make its global debut at this year’s Integrated Systems Show in Europe next week. The subwoofer will be available for purchase through authorized dealers after launch at $2,750 USD.

Thisis the latest addition tothe Sonus faber Graviscollectionofactivesubwoofersdedicated to thereproduction of low frequency,designed to matchallSonus faber full-range loudspeakerscollections.TheGravis IIIisthe intermediate model amongpreviousproductsin theGraviscollection, completingtheOlympica Nova line introduced in September of 2019.Aesthetically, Gravis III follows the styleof itspredeceasing products,withthe body enriched byablack leather coveringand discreet Pianoblack wooden finish.However, the subwoofer’s top finishes of Wengè and Walnut matte create theconnection to the newer Olympica Nova collection.The removablefabricgrille with metal pins covers a powerful10’’ (250 mm)ultra-longthrow driverincludinga Trilaminated sandwich cone diaphragmwith a layer of honeycombin between,managingthe driver’s excursion andresistanceflexing.The stiffness of the conemerged withitsextremelightnessallowsthe subwooferto produce thetightest and most accurate bassreproductionpossible.The Class AB amplifier can produce 600W into an8-ohmload.The choice of the AB class, comparedto simpler solutions,contradictsthe Sonus faber well-known harmonious richness and musicality,while the huge energy reserve is responsible for a fast response and wide frequency range.The latter is further linearizeddueto aspecially designedDigital Signal Processor,implemented inthe input preamp stage,that allows adjustments in order to optimize dynamic impact and sonicreproduction depth, satisfying every application need.Product details can be found outlined below

Both highandlow-levelsignals are accepted. The first by means of a Speakon© 4 pin connector, managing the two L andR channels. One or two-line level signals can be carried by means of balanced or unbalanced cables,respectively through two 3-pin XLR and RCA plugs. The LFE signal can be fed to the subwooferthrough the shared XLR or RCA. If avoidingcables back to the receiver/preamp/processor,Gravis IIIintegratesa wireless receiverto pairwith the optional transmitter, allowing complete connectivitywithout long wiring runs.The GravisIIIisfully controllable by means of a dedicated, user-friendly app. The user can chooseamong 4presets ormodify the cutoff frequency and the acoustical output phase forseamlessintegration with the main loudspeakers.
