EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH, DISHP) announced that DISH Networkô is offering a new, high-power, small-dish satellite television programming service for consumers in Alaska and Hawaii beginning Saturday, April 1, 2000, for only $29.99 per month. DISH Network will offer America's Top 70 CD, featuring popular television channels and commercial-free music channels. Various popular entertainment, sports, news and movie channels will be available to DISH Network customers in Alaska and Hawaii who have a DISH Network satellite television system pointed to 119 degrees West Longitude.DISH Network will also offer premium movie channels. Customers can get three channels of HBO (HBO, HBO Plus and HBO Family) for only $11.99 per month, two channels of Showtime (Showtime and Showtime 2) for only $10.99 per month, or both for $20.99 per month.
