IndieDVD Preps For Its First DVD Release

31-Mar-00

IndieDVD has acquired the DVD rights to several short independent films for their upcoming DVD compilation. Under terms of the standard agreement, the filmmakers and production companies have granted IndieDVD digital-exclusive rights to their film for the purpose of DVD distribution and retail sale. IndieDVD offers the filmmaker a full screen, interactive medium for independent cinema that can be played on a home entertainment system. IndieDVDs most recent acquisition is Lionheart Production's Korean War film ""The Nest."" Recognized as the Best Action Short at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 1999, the twenty-four minute long film features Nathan Blackburn, former cast member of MTV's Real World Seattle. Set on the battlefield during the Korean conflict, ""it is a story about the battle between the soldiers - and the battle within themselves,"" according to Producer and Co-Star DJ Perry. ""This film entertains as well as communicates alternative personal expression,"" according to IndieDVD President and Principal Producer, Jonah E.R. Loeb. ""The introduction of independent cinema to DVD has opened a world of opportunity for the independent filmmaker, and I'm proud to be part of it."" IndieDVD continues to accept submissions. They expect their first DVD to be available later this year. Source: DVDInsider.com
