Digital Projection Wins At OscarsÆ

3-Apr-00

The 2000 Academy AwardsÆ broadcast March 26 marked the third consecutive year that Digital Projection, a subsidiary of Imax, entertained the Oscar audience with its high-performance projection systems. The show's producers rented 27 Power Displays from Audio Visual Headquarters and used the ultra-bright Power 8gv projectors to create the largest video wall ever deployed for a live broadcast. The 40-foot-by-32-foot ""towers"" of projectors displayed live television camera image magnification of stage presenters, Oscar-nominated film clips and sophisticated computer and video imagery during the telecast.
