Altec Lansing Announces New Home Theatre Audio Systems And Speakers For Gamers

Altec Lansing Technologies, Inc. will showcase its newest products for 2000 and current line of audio peripherals, including a new sound system maximized for home theatre and gaming playback, at Spring RetailVision in Beverly Hills, California this week. The products being showcased include the ATP6, ATP3, ACS56, ACS66i, the VoicePodô and the InteliMicô. ""No other gathering provides a Vendor/Retailer meeting format in a specific location in such a concentrated and efficient period of time,"" said James Pedranti, Vice President of Channel Sales. ""The atmosphere created with the RetailVision format is the most inviting venue for conducting immediate business and developing long-term relationships."" The featured audio system, the new ATP6, is a six-piece sound solution ideal for home theatre, gaming, music and video gaming. The system has front, rear and surround satellites, a center channel and a subwoofer, a complete discrete surround sound experience boasting a total of 75 watts. The system features DolbyÆ Digital and Dolby ProLogicÆ modes perfect for movie and gaming audio content and allows the flexibility of being connected to a PC or home system. The ATP3, a stylish new three-piece system with a thin profile design, breaks the mold of the conventional speaker with its sophisticated, contemporary design. This audio system has a total 25 watts of power and includes two satellites and a subwoofer uniting a new slim design with powerful high-quality performance. Exclusive microdriver technology is embedded into each satellite providing superior sound quality in this slim system design. Also being shown is the VoicePodô, a USB-based PC peripheral that allows users to easily record and attach high-quality voice files to documents and e-mail messages with the touch of a button. Slightly larger than a standard computer mouse, the VoicePod also functions as a high quality I/O device and can be used for a variety of other audio applications including voice command and Web-based teleconferencing or audio chat. This computer appliance is a productivity enhancing tool for work or home which with the touch of a button can easily enhance photos, documents and visual aids with the human voice. The InteliMicô, the industryís most advanced digital microphone, can be modified to focus voice capture in a user-controlled area. Utilizing Altec Lansingís Clarixô set of noise reduction and voice capture technologies, the InteliMic is able to digitally eliminate ambient or extraneous sounds and process only the userís voice. The InteliMic is ideal for all applications that require high-quality voice capture including speech recognition and computer telephony.
