Vestel, a major Consumer Electronics manufacturer and distributor in Europe and Exatel Visual Systems, a provider of digital video solutions announced that they will co-develop a TV Recorder, to be built into Vestel's high-end TV sets.The TV Recorder will extend the current TV features to include Pause/Resume - for time shifted program watching, Record - for program recording while watching another program, Playback and Fast Forward - for prerecorded program playback, and Instant Replay, Slow Motion and Freeze operationsThe module enables up to four hours of high-quality recording and about 30 seconds of instant replay. All features are operated using the TV remote control and OSD. The solution utilizes VisionTech's Kfir MPEG-2 encoder chip. Tommy Orpaz VisionTech's Executive Marketing and Sales Manager says, ""Stand-alone recording modules designed to be an integral part of a television set will revolutionize the digital video recording market.""
