MIT's New Oracle Series Speaker Interfaces Are A Hit At CES

Oracle V2, An Instant Classic

20-Apr-00

MIT has once again raised the bar for performance in the high end cable industry. At the 2000 Consumer Electronics Show, MIT rolled out the Oracle Series of speaker cables, the most technologically advanced product line from a company famous for its innovative engineering. The star of the show was the Oracle V2 which exemplifies the strengths of this new series: modular design, upgradeability and improved aesthetics. Modular Design Bruce Brisson's ongoing test and measurement program has resulted in advanced network topology, allowing multiple networks to be contained in a single network enclosure, machined from a solid (non-resonant) aluminum billet. The speaker cable itself attaches to the housing via a sophisticated military-spec union connector. This modularity allows for easy placement of the network housing and allows the cable to be routed through walls or under floors with ease. Upgradeability As the technology of cables or networks advances, the Oracle V2's network enclosure and/or cable can be factory upgraded or exchanged, making the design future-proof. Or, as the needs of the user change, an Oracle can go from single to bi-wire; from ""solid state dedicated"" to ""tube dedicated."" Esthetics Beyond the striking good looks of the network enclosure, the Oracle's hidden beauty rests in its ability to get out of the way of the user's decor. The network enclosure itself is designed for placement directly behind the speakers. As noted above, the detachable cable makes for uncomplicated routing. But the greatest strength of MIT's Oracle V2 is its ability to let the system's amplifier and speakers operate up to their full potential, setting new standards for bass, natural spectral balance, and micro-dynamics. Enthusiasts will also appreciate the Oracle's remarkably coherent presentation of timing and dimensionality. Oracle V2 is available in standard or bi-wire configuration in three system-specific versions: - Wide Bandwidth - high resolution with startling image presence and detail, complementing the majority of today's solid-state amplifiers. - Ultra-Wide Bandwidth - takes imaging and soundstaging to a new dimension (pardon the pun) while providing all the benefits of the Wide Bandwidth model. For ultra-fast amplifiers with exceptionally extended high frequency response. - Tube - all the benefits of Wide Bandwidth, but dedicated for use with tube amplifiers. Pricing Oracle V2 starts at $6995 for the 8 foot pair. Other Oracle series speaker interfaces range from $2995 to $13,999. Warranty is limited lifetime for all cables.
