21-Apr-00

High Performance Stereoô has been chosen to install an HPS-4000Æ M-Class sound system in an exclusive screening room located in a private estate in the Hamptons area of Long Island, New York. The residence is used solely for vacationing entertainment executives and celebrities. The amenities include an indoor pool in addition to a fully equipped, 100 seat 35mm screening room. The upgrade of the screening room facilities is being done by Production Screenings, Inc. of Southampton, New York. The installation of the new sound system will bring the theatre up to the requirements for today's digital soundtracks. This particular screening room is generally thought to be the best of it's kind in the area and is fully equipped to handle production dailies as well as feature film presentations in any of the modern analog or digital sound formats. ""I am delighted that my client has selected HPS-4000 for this special screening room"" said Gerry Ferrara, President of Production Screenings, Inc. The most recent HPS-4000 installation done by Production Screenings was at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center in Westhampton Beach, New York. Production Screenings also employs loudspeakers from HPSÆ when providing production screening services. In 1984, High Performance Stereo was the first to demonstrate digital sound in a commercial motion picture theatre using an HPS-4000 installation at the Century Plaza Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The M-Class system is one of four levels of HPS-4000 sound systems designed for motion picture theatres. It uses the HPS 545-3 three-way, fully horn loaded screen speakers, the 545-W subwoofers and the SR-70 surround speakers, placed around the theatre according to the exclusive Allen Surround Arrayô formulas. Typically, M-Class HPS-4000 sound systems are designed to deliver the acoustic power of seven to ten symphony orchestras. The HPS-4000 sound system is installed in many of the best presentation cinemas around the world and is considered by many as the finest sound system ever developed for motion picture theatres.
