Brazilian authorities may opt for European or Japanese high definition TV standards in a ruling due this summer that could influence other markets in the region.Brazilian telco regulatory agency Anatel is weighing the adoption of Japanís ISDB standard or Europeís DVB against the US-developed ATSC.A task force comprising representatives from 17 broadcasters will release a recommendation on a standard on April 30. Anatel will then hold public hearings on the issue and will make its final decision in July or August.
