iMMERSION New Media Announces Tibetan Benefit CD/DVD-ROM

iMMERSION New Media, the premiere provider of hybrid media solutions, has partnered with Virgin Records, Hollywood Broadcasting and the Earth Dance Organization to chronicle Earthdance 2000 using the world's first simultaneous audio CD/DVD-ROM release. The DVD-ROM also represents iMMERSION's first Event on a Discô release and will combine the ability to view live content on the Internet, unique video footage, rare interviews, and more from a single DVD disc played in either a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM player. ""The idea behind creating a Web-enabled DVD-ROM for Earth Dance was to take advantage of a format which allows us to recreate the spirit of the real Earthdance event in a digital environment. The disc provides unparalleled interactivity from either a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM player,"" says Joseph Matheny, CEO of iMMERSION New Media. iMMERSION will develop the Earthdance 2000 DVD-ROM using iMMERSION's DVD Web Client, MezMurô. ""We'll be using the MezMur DVD Web Client because of it's flexibility as an integrated DVD-ROM interface,"" continues Matheny. Virgin Records will distribute both the CD and DVD-ROM in stores, while Earthdance 2000 will provide links to dynamic Web content via the Hollywoodbroadcasting.com network.
