Formation of strategic alliances with Daikin of Singapore and VideoPropulsion of Slinger, Wisconsin, for the marketing of its MPEG-2 compression products has been announced by Zapex Technologies. The new product line will combine Zapex's MPEG-2 compression solutions with Daikin's ReelDVD Authoring System, which is designed and priced for the region's expanding prosumer market. Division General Manager, said the newest authoring software versions of the ReelDVD bundled with Zapex's versatile 200 and 300 series MPEG-2 encoders will combine to produce a powerful tool easily integrated into desktop PCs, offering prosumer and media content developers high end quality at affordable prices. ""ReelDVD is based on the award-winning professional Scenarist product line that has been setting the standard in DVD authoring since the inception of the technology. Deliveries have begun on the new Zapex encoder with Daikin's ReelDVD software and is available through regional distributors. The partnership between Zapex and VideoPropulsion will permit the two companies to market complete Linux-based MPEG-2 encoding solutions to operators and providers of cable television systems. The VDOPro high bandwidth DVB-ASI multiplexing cards offered by VideoPropulsion, coupled with Zapex's encoder products, will deliver low cost streaming over fast network topologies.
