Philips announces their new Philips Receiver offering DIRECTVÆ with TiVo Service, which provides consumers with two exciting services delivered through one device. This new digital satellite receiver provides access to over 210 digital-quality channels from DIRECTV, seamlessly integrated with the control, convenience and personalization that TiVo delivers to TV viewers. With TiVo, DIRECTV customers can make the most of their favorite DIRECTV programming, from sports to movies, and create their own personal TV network ñ available to watch on their schedule. The new Philips-brand DIRECTV Receiver with TiVo, which features a large disk drive to store up to 30 hours of video content, delivers a wide variety of DIRECTV programming, including the most popular sports, entertainment, news, music and family programs. Additional DIRECTV features include a new, Advanced Program Guideô, which allows consumers to view program listings up to 14 days in advance and features convenient, expanded sorting and navigation capabilities. This new receiver is also capable of supporting DIRECTV programming from multiple satellites. TiVo digitally records television shows, without video tape, so you can watch what you want, when you want to watch it. The TiVo Service was designed to make it easy for consumers to find and record the programs they want, with new service capabilities and enhancements delivered automatically. With TiVo, viewers have full control of live television programs, with the ability to pause, instant replay, rewind, fast forward and playback in normal speed, slow motion or frame-by-frame, backward and forward. TiVo allows viewers to easily and automatically find and record favorite shows, and can suggest and record other programs that match viewer preferences (likes and dislikes). All programming is recorded digitally, so content retrieval and playback is fast, easy and convenient. The Philips Receiver with DIRECTV programming and TiVo personal TV service is expected to be available at retail locations this holiday season.
