B & K Components, Ltd., upgrades the PT-3, a two-channel AM/FM Preamp Tuner Audio Control Center, with a standard RS232 port and new brushed faceplate. With the introduction of the PT-3, B & K continues to embrace the audiophile and two-channel stereo market - product sales have proven that consumers continue to enjoy stereo. ""In the PT-3, the RS232 port was an upgrade, with the Series II, RS232 is standard at the same price,"" noted B&Kís General Manager John Beyer. ""The unitís success on the sales floor has been amazing. When we first introduced the PT-3, we were given a lot of quizzical looks, but the sales speak for themselves. Stereo is alive and well."" The PT-3 Series II was designed to be a comprehensive control center that is easy to set-up and use with the ""set it and forget it"" preset system. Using the preset system, the user can recall favorite settings for volume, bass, treble, balance, loudness and headphone mode when changing AM/FM stations or when recalling any source plugged into the PT-3. AM/FM stations can be manually tuned in, or the frequency can be entered in directly using the PT-3s remote. Also, the input and preset names can be customized, and even the ""power on"" titles can be changed to display almost anything the user desires when the unit is turned on. The PT-3 has six audio inputs, variable level high-pass and full-range outputs, as well as an infrared input system for total system integration. To complement the PT-3 Series II, users can choose from a number of B & Kís stereo amplifiers. The PT-3 retails for $598. For more information, visit www.bkcomp.com.
