B & K Components Ltd. introduced three new additions to their line of Reference Series amplifiers, the 2220, 220M and the 3220.With the Reference 2220, B & K combined two mono block amplifiers into one chassis. Utilizing two separate massive power supplies this dual mono stereo amplifier delivers 220 watts into each channel with 75 amps of peak-to-peak current. Both the 220M and the 2220 are high current amplifiers built with what are said to be high quality parts such as large Torodial transformers, 1% metal film resistors and Class ""A"" pre-drivers. Both amplifiers also provide balanced inputs. Manufacturerís suggested retail price is $1,298.The Reference 220M is a 250 watt mono black amplifier. With 150 amps of peak-to-peak current, the 220M can handle complex loads with as little as .75 ohms of impedance. MSRP is $1,298.The Reference 3220 is designed primarily for home theatre applications. This three-channel, 220 watt per channel with 60 amps peak-to-peak amplifier can be used as the centerpiece of a home theatre system by delivering the same high performance to the left, right and center channels, or two 3220 amplifiers can be combined for a 6.1 surround sound system. The 3220 is built using the same parts as the rest of the Reference Series line, and also features convenient level controls for all three channels.
