B & K Components Ltd., introduces new additions to their AV Series II power amplifier line, the AV5125 and AV6125. These amplifiers were designed to realize the full potential home theatre systems. The AV5125 and AV6125 are five and six channel amplifiers, respectively, that deliver 125 watts per channel. Both amplifiers feature large Torodial transformers with high current capability. Class ""A/B"" MOSFET output stages are used, reportedly to provide efficient, linear power, along with discrete circuitry said to provide a more accurate and three-dimensional sound. The AV5125 and AV6125 use Class ""A"" pre-driver input stages. Both the AV5125 and AV6125 share the parts found in B & Kís larger, more expensive Reference Series line of amplifiers. Some of those parts include 1% metal film resistors and computer grade capacitors, claimed to provide improved low frequency control and dynamics. The AV5125 offers five channels of amplification. The AV6125 is made for driving the front left, right and center channels, two surrounds and a subwoofer or rear center channel (the extra channel necessary for DolbyÆ Digital Surround EXô or DTSÆ-ES Discrete 6.1 formats). Both amplifiers also feature 12-volt trigger inputs for connection to a B & K preamp/tuner processor that utilize ""PLUG'n PLAY"" technology. Both amplifiers also feature gold-plated, five-way binding posts that will accept spade lugs, banana plugs and bare wire. The manufacturerís suggested retail prices on the AV5125 and AV6125 are $1,298 and $1,498, respectively. They are now shipping. For more information, visit www.bkcomp.com.
