At CEDIA EXPO 2000 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Linn unveils the KNEKT KIVOR, concurrent pitch accurate recording and playback system for music. This modular and expandable recordable source product provides access on demand to the contents of many hundreds of full-bandwidth, uncompressed CDs, LPs and radio broadcasts.The KNEKT KIVOR is a Web-enabled, hard drive, high fidelity pitch accurate recording and playback audio distribution system. The expandable and upgradeable design of the KNEKT KIVOR is said to simplify multi-room installation and user access to the widest range of program material. Linn's proprietary audio technology PCI card, designed specifically for the KNEKT KIVOR, reportedly enables computerized pitch accurate high-fidelity sound recording and playback. The KNEKT KIVOR can record, replay and distribute from digital, analog and online media, is claimed to offer superior sound reproduction quality to conventional CD changers or other hard drive replay-only systems and boasts a high degree of immunity to vibration and shock.The KNEKT KIVOR can be accessed from up to 128 zones in a Linn Knekt Intersekt multi-room system via a Linn Knekt keypad, touchscreen and computer.
