AIWA America, Inc. introduced a dual-tray audio CD recorder with 4x dubbing that allows a 60-minute CD to be copied in 15 minutes.The new AIWA XC-RW700 features one tray for CD playback and a second tray for both CD playback and recording. The unit is compatible with both CD-R and CD-RW discs.Among the unit's features is an automatic sample rate converter that allows recording from a digital source that utilizes sampling rates from 32kHz to 96kHz. This can be especially useful when recording from a DAT deck that uses the non-standard 48kHz sampling rate. The recorder also features 96kHz Multi-Bit Delta Sigma digital-to-analog converters and 128x oversampling.The XC-RW700 offers two coaxial and two optical digital inputs, two coaxial and two optical digital outputs, plus one set of analog inputs and outputs. One optical input is mounted on the front panel.Other features include a headphone output with level control and a full-function remote control.The AIWA XC-RW700 measures 17 (W) X 3 1/2 (H) X 8 1/2 (D) inches and weighs 14 pounds. It will be available in September at a suggested retail price of $650.00.
