Programs Encoded With DolbyÆ Technology Win Three EmmyÆ Awards For Sound

Eight Dolby Technology-Encoded Programs Nominated This Year

Three programs encoded with DolbyÆ technologies have won sound mixing EmmyÆ Awards at this year ís Technical Emmy Awards, held on August 26, 2000. The three winners are ""Ally McBeal"" (FOX), ""Cher: Live In Concert - From The MGM Grand In Las Vegas"" (HBO) and ""The X-Files"" (FOX). Five other nominated programs were encoded with Dolby SurroundÆ. Currently, more than 50 television series, as well as many specials and sporting events, are broadcast in Dolby Surround. In addition to the Dolby Surround encoded programs that have won Emmy Awards, Dolby Laboratories has received three Emmy Awards for technical innovation for the development of DVD technology and for professional television tape recorder noise reduction technology.
