Vidikron Unveils Newly Styled Vision One And Two HDTV-Ready CRT Projectors

8-Sep-00

Vidikron of America introduces newly styled editions of the Vision One and Vision Two HDTV-compatible CRT Projectors at CEDIA EXPO 2000 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The projectors are slightly smaller, sleeker and more streamlined than earlier versions of the Vision One and Vision Two. The new design uses fewer panels, and therefore is said to make the projectors easier to work with during installation. The Vision Three retains its current cabinet. The Vision One is said to employ a host of technical breakthroughs to provide viewers with extremely bright, clear, distortion-free pictures, regardless of aspect ratio, picture size or mounting considerations. Vidikron says that the Vision One is designed for use with ultra-high performance video line doublers and quadruplers, and that it is equally at home displaying high-resolution video or computer images. Among its notable features are Scheimpflug-design lens adjustments, which are claimed to offer perfect corner-to-corner picture focus, and a nine-zone electronic color correction system that is said to deliver ""amazing"" picture sharpness and balance from liquid-coupled nine-inch color tubes and f/1.1 lenses. Other advances include active blanking for each edge of the picture, which reportedly assures an exact fit of the picture to the screen without fringing or overscan, computer-controlled screen-size and aspect-ratio set-ups, which are stored in non-volatile memory, and a computer-controlled, 45-zone automatic convergence alignment. The Vision Two shares many of the Vision Oneís features, including Scheimpflug-design lens adjustments, automatic contrast modulation, complete ""gamma"" correction and electronic geometry circuits. It features eight-inch, electromagnetically focused color tubes. The Vision One and Vision Two are available now at suggested prices of $49,995 and $31,995, respectively.
