Runco International introduces its flagship model, the DTV-1101. The new model builds on the design of its predecessor, the DTV-1100, and is capable of displaying high definition television formats in their full, native resolutions, including 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720.For enhanced contrast ratio, the DTV-1101 uses three 9-inch liquid coupled tubes, with fully color-filtered C-elements, and color-corrected high-definition lenses and electromagnetic focus. According to Joel Silver, founder of the Imaging Science Foundation, ""C-elements enhance the color palette of the projector - the single most important factor when distinguishing a video projector from a graphic projector.""Runcoís Eye-Qô convergence system is said to dramatically accelerates setup, making optimal image accuracy in all formats faster and easier - also allowing the homeowner to touch-up their own projector once initial convergence has been completed by their installer.The DTV-1101 offers 32 separate memory settings (8 settings per scan frequency). Each stores customized aspect ratio, color temperature and scan rate settings - all accessible via the supplied remote control - as well as any necessary variations of conventional user settings such as brightness and contrast. Each memory further stores individualized convergence data, and stored convergence settings may be ""copied"" from one memory location to another.The DTV-1101 can display multiple aspect ratios, including conventional 4:3 television, widescreen and anamorphic film-transfer imaging, to ""native"" 16:9 HDTV programs. The DTV-1101 has an RGB/component video input, compatible with video processors or DTV decoders, and has a horizontal scan rate of up to 75kHz.Runco has reportedly taken steps to minimize CRT ""arcing,"" a common issue with 9-inch CRT projectors, through lower high voltage and better high voltage regulation. The DTV-1101 includes an internal menu system and a supplied wireless or wired remote control.
