Runco International announced its high definition interface board upgrade for its entry-level model of the Reflectionô series projectors. The Reflection VX-101c is based on the Digital Light Processingô (DLPô) technology developed by Texas Instruments. The Reflection VX-101c is a combination of the VX-101 projector and the VHD Controller, which expands the capabilities of this projector to accommodate letterbox, anamorphic and 4:3 images on the viewerís wide aspect ratio screen. The VHD Controller is a scaler that combines 10-bit decoding with inverse telecine detection (3:2 pulldown), said to virtually eliminate motion artifacts. The new high definition upgrade allows the users to convert DTV signals including 1080i, 720p and 480p. In addition the VHD Controller can convert a variety of VESA standard computer signals to the widescreen resolution (800 x 450) of the projector. The Runco Reflection VX-101c features a single-chip DLP engine, and offers light output of 800 ANSI lumens. This projector is capable of reproducing conventional and anamorphic/widescreen programs on a 16:9 or a 4:3 aspect ratio screen, and with the HDTV and data upgrade, the Reflection VX-101c is compatible with more sources and signals than before. The upgrade will be available September 2000 with a manufacturerís suggested retail price of $1,000.For more information on Runco International, visit them on the Web at www.runco.com.Category: Projectors
