MartinLogan, announces the introduction of Ascent, an electrostatic speaker that embodies the look, technology and performance of its sibling - the MartinLogan Prodigy - in a compact, sculpted cabinet. Ascent is about expressing our unique language of form and function.""Ascent's all new design uses both the MartinLogan CLS electrostatic technology and their experience in hybrid speaker system design. Ascent is claimed to maintain controlled dispersion - for minimal room interaction.Ascent will replace the MartinLogan SL3 in the company product line. It features what the company says are advanced construction techniques including specially designed stator supports and composite headpiece for maximum stator rigidity and astonishing clarity. A new trim fastening system is designed to enable quick and easy trim rail changes to complement any decor. Ascent also features a redesigned crossover, proprietary audiophile CE certified binding posts, increased cabinet rigidity and MartinLogan energy transfer coupler (ETC) spikes. Ascent is available for the retail price of $3995.00 per pair, in a variety of hand-finished hard-wood trim rails. MartinLogan is located in Lawrence, Kansas, where its 100 employees handcraft each of the company's 10 product lines.
