Philips Introduces The FR975 Digital Audio/Video Surround Receiver

The new Philips FR975 A/V incorporates the Philips Tetra CORE processor which is capable of processing 100 MIPS (million instructions per second) for audio decoding, and can automatically detect all standard audio signals including DolbyÆ Digital, Dolby Pro LogicÆ, DTSÆ Digital Surroundô and PCM - and seamlessly switch between formats. The Tetra CORE processor also is capable of handling the 96kHz signals used with the new DVD-Audio format. The FR975 produces 500 watts of total power channeled through the included five-speaker set. Key Features: - Stereo Downmix: This feature allows a Dolby Digital, DTS Digital Surround or DVD-Audio multichannel digital audio signal to be processed into a normal stereo for digital output. - Cinema Link System Control Bus: When the receiver is connected to other Philips products such as a Philips TV, VCR, or DVD player, the Cinema Link System Control Bus enables the entire system to be operated with one-touch control. - Natural Surround: Natural Surround creates ""phantom"" speakers in between the existing speakers to fill in gaps in the sound. - Menu-Based User Interface: The FR975 incorporates a menu-based user interface, operated by a rotary knob.
