2000 Widescreen Film Festival At California State University Long Beach

September 20-24 marks the 2000 Widescreen Film Festival held at the Richard & Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center at California State University Long Beach (CSULB). This year's lineup boasts an eclectic lineup, including the West Coast premiere of the re-edited and remastered ""Elvis: That's The Way It Is."" Many of the films will be screened from brand new 35mm prints. Wednesday, September 20: ""The Bridge On The River Kwai"" - 7:30pm Thursday, September 21: ""The Diary Of Anne Frank"" - 7:30pm Friday, September 22: ""Bye Bye Birdie"" - 5pm, ""Elvis: That's The Way It Is"" - 8pm, double feature with ""Viva Las Vegas"" Saturday, September 23: ""Swiss Family Robinson"" (+ scope Disney cartoons) - 10am, ""Miracles"" - 2:30pm, ""Blazing Saddles"" - 5pm, ""The Elephant Man"" - 8pm, ""Blue Velvet"" - 11pm Sunday, September 24: ""Cheyenne Autumn"" - 11:30am, ""The Professionals"" - 3:30pm, ""Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid"" - 7pm Sunday will also include a tribute to cinematographer Conrad Hall, who is scheduled to attend the Sunday screenings (schedule permitting). Tickets for individual screenings are $7.00, $5.00 for students, seniors, CSULB and Carpenter Center Cinema Society members. Tickets for the Elvis Double Feature on Friday, September 22 are $10.00; $7.00 for students, seniors, CSULB and Carpenter Center Cinema Society members. Widescreen Film Festival passes good for all screenings are available for $50.00, $45 for students, seniors, CSULB and Carpenter Center Cinema Society members.
