SpeakerCraft Unveils MIM Mini Monitors

New MIM6.5 and MIM6.1 Box Speakers Feature Mirror Image Pivoting Technology

SpeakerCraft introduced the MIM6.5 and MIM6.1 Monitor Speakers at CEDIA EXPO 2000. The MIM6.5 and MIM6.1 are two-way bookshelf speakers featuring 6.5-inch polypropylene cone woofers. Both speakers use SpeakerCraftís exclusive Mirror Image Technology, in which the speaker's two one-inch, silk-dome, neodymium magnet tweeters are mounted in a mirror-image array. Each speakerís tweeter array is specially built to pivot, allowing it to be aimed and directed toward the listening area.The MIM6.5 has a rated frequency response of 40Hz-20kHz +/-2dB. Its dual voice coil, mineral-filled woofer is fitted with a Butyl rubber surround.The MIM6.1 has a measured bass response down to 50Hz. Its dual voice-coil woofer is fitted with a Urethane surround.The MIM speakers are housed in compact 3/4-inch MDF ported cabinets and are designed to integrate with other SpeakerCraft products, such as Custom Round Series in-ceiling speakers and the LCR center channel speaker. The MIM6.5 and MIM6.1 are magnetically shielded. They both feature a profile of 12 x 7 3/8 x 8 3/4 inches (HWD).The MIM6.5 and MIM6.1 Monitors will be available in December from SpeakerCraft dealers at suggested prices of $449 and $249, respectively.
