SpeakerCraft Launches New WeatherCraft Speakers

SpeakerCraft, the worldís largest manufacturer of architectural speakers and other custom installation products, introduces six new WeatherCraftô outdoor speakers at CEDIA EXPO 2000. The new speakers include four traditional models - the WS710, WS720, WS740 and WS750 - and two special wide dispersion models, the WS940 and WS950. The initial four feature new decorator styling, and have the following configurations:- The WS710 features a single 5-1/2-inch woofer with a 1/2-inch polyamide dome tweeter.- The WS720 features a high-grade 5-1/2-inch woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter. - The WS740 supports two 5-1/2-inch woofers and a 1/2-inch polyamide dome tweeter.- The WS750 sports two 5-1/2-inch high-grade woofers and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter.  The two new wide-area models are specially designed to cover outdoor areas more efficiently than traditional stereo pairs. The wide-area speakers are sold as individual units, rather than pairs. Each wide-area speaker consists of two tweeters and two woofers, essentially a single stereo speaker in a cabinet design. Each pair of woofer/tweeter combinations is positioned at a 120-degree angle in relation to each other. For SpeakerCraftís new models:- The WS940 features two 5-1/2-inch woofers and two 1/2-inch polyamide dome tweeters. - The WS950 supports two high-grade 5-1/2-inch woofers and two 1-inch silk dome tweeters. A switch on the back of the cabinet allows the user to select the type of music information to be played from each of the two woofer/tweeter combinations. Each side can play either the left or right channel, as well as left + right.All six new WeatherCrafts incorporate a double pivot mounting system. The speaker bracket allows the cabinet to be rotated independently from the wall mounting plate. The cabinet-to-bracket knobs are hidden behind a snap-off cover. The bracket-to-wall plate utilizes a camlock fastener. The attractive cabinet designs are also said to assist the acoustical accuracy of the speakers.Each new speaker is available in black or white, and is fully weather resistant.
