SpeakerCraft announced the availability of the Rogue in-wall speakers at CEDIA EXPO 2000. The Rogues are individually handcrafted, high-performance architectural speakers, starting at $50,000/pair. Standing seven feet tall, the Rogue is capable of being recessed into any wall with stud bays as narrow as 16 inches wide. The cabinet is also equipped with a series of braces and baffles designed eliminatie resonance. The Rogue features a six-foot magnetic planar line source ribbon transducer. Each in-wall array houses eight 5.25-inch magnesium aluminum woofers, featuring an inverted aluminum alloy surface. Placed within a rack-mountable chassis, the electronic crossover is fully adjustable to match any listening roomís acoustics. Rogue speaker grills can be fabricated from virtually any material selected by the client, from alloy mesh to woven silk. The Rogue system comes equipped with dual 1000-watt amplified BassX In-Ceiling subwoofers, SpeakerCraftís flagship in-ceiling sub. Each BassX unit features dual eight-inch, long-throw, mass-loaded woofers with 56 oz. vented and copper-plated magnets, along with a two-inch voice coil. Designed with home theatre applications in mind, Rogue speakers are magnetically shielded, so they can be placed near direct-view TVs.
