SpeakerCraft Introduces BassX Powered In-Ceiling Subwoofer

SpeakerCraft introduced the BassX powered in-ceiling subwoofer at CEDIA EXPO 2000. SpeakerCraftís design and mounting system for the BassX allow it to be installed in either new construction, utilizing a snap-on drywall ring, or retrofit into existing rooms with a standard folding installation bracket. The BassX system comes with a wire harness and connecting block.The BassX subwoofer features dual 8-inch woofers in an isobaric configuration. The woofers are mounted inside a 10-inch round by 10-inch deep enclosure that supposedly will fit any ceiling stud spacing. The woofers are designed to accompany SpeakerCraft's 1000-watt BB2500 subwoofer power amplifier. The amplifier supports controls for low-pass crossover adjustment and polarity switching. The controls are mounted on the front of the amplifier and covered by a removable aluminum plate. The BassX In-Ceiling Subwoofer and BB2500 Subwoofer Amplifier are available now from SpeakerCraft dealers for a combined suggested retail price of $1,800.
