TC Electronic And Digital Harmony Partner To Develop Networked Professional Audio Products

Two Companies Work To Develop IEEE-1394-Enabled Sound Studio Products

TC Electronic - part of TC Group along with TC Works and TC Helicon - and Digital Harmony Technologies Inc. announced a licensing agreement that will lead to the first IEEE 1394 networked audio processors. Under the terms of the agreement, all TC Group companies have licensed the rights to use the Digital Harmony Studioô portfolio of technologies, including DHIVAô 1394 interface modules. TC Electronic will incorporate Digital Harmony Studio technologies in its award-winning signal processing products. TC Electronic's planned IEEE-1394 products will offer unparalleled ease-of-use, taking advantage of Digital Harmony's DHIVA embedded 1394 interface, software drivers and professional production assistant (PPA) software modules. In addition, built in to every DHIVA-powered audio device is an auto-upgrading feature for system firmware enhancements. The DHIVA product portfolio currently includes discrete interface cards and standards-based firmware. In 2001, cost-reduced DHIVA interfaces will be released, taking advantage of new node controller integrated circuits. DHIVA modules are part of the growing Digital Harmony Studioô portfolio of licensable professional audio technologies, which also includes WireFreeô wireless audio modules, BiDATô data-hiding modules, loudspeaker DSP modules and PAWSô audio watermarking codecs.
