Century Theatres Commits To Dolby

Century Theatres of San Rafael, California confirmed that it plans to equip all of its theatres for DolbyĆ Digital playback, for a total of more than 250 new screens over the next three years. Century CEO Raymond W. Syufy said, ""Century Theatres endeavors to give customers the best moviegoing experience currently possible. Dolby Digital provides the latest and best technology currently available, so that we can give audiences the utmost in sound quality."" The start of this three-year commitment, part of Centuryís carefully planned expansion program, begins with theatres scheduled to open in the following locations: Samís Town Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, Great Mall, Milpitas, California and other complexes in Evanston, Illinois, Vallejo, California, San Leandro, California, Salinas, California, Pleasant Hill, California, Walnut Creek, California, San Rafael, California and Tucson, Arizona. ""As our industry has experienced a downturn recently, we are delighted with Centuryís decision to include Dolby in its long-term plans,"" said Tim Partridge, Vice President, Motion Picture Division.
