New models PV-DF2700 and PV-DF2000 feature the flat screen Tau PureFlat television, a high-quality DVD-Video player/CD player, and a 4-head, hi-fi stereo VCR. Thereís even an FM radio and alarm clock. The PV-DF2700 features a 27-inch inch (diagonal screen measurement) Tau PureFlat screen, and will have an MSRP of $1299.95. Both models are expected to be available in November. ""The Tau PureFlat TV delivers exceptional-quality color and clarity,"" said Brian Hoffman, General Manager of PCECís Consumer Video Division. ""This new Triple Play combo offers consumers a versatile product that achieves a new level of quality and performance."" The Triple Play comboís all-in-one, space saving design and easy operation makes it especially welcome in bedrooms, guest rooms, home offices and apartments - wherever space is at a premium. ""It allows consumers to enjoy home theatre style video entertainment in any room,"" said Hoffman. ""Consumers need only to take the unit out of the box and plug it in, and theyíre ready to view their favorite videocassette, DVD movie or TV program, or play a CD."" The Panasonic Tau PureFlat picture tube is perfectly flat, so it delivers a distortion-free picture from corner to corner. Thanks to advanced Panasonic television technology, this high-quality set delivers outstanding picture quality with precise, brilliant color reproduction and extraordinary clarity. The three-line digital comb filter minimizes dot crawl and cross-color interference. Velocity modulated scan slows down the black and white portions of the video signal, resulting in sharp, dark-to-light transitions and crisp edge definition. The PV-DF2700 features 2-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture). Both models feature built-in stereo speakers. The unique Triple Play combination features a high quality DVD-Video player that does double duty as an audio CD player. The DVD format delivers brilliant, high resolution video images - twice as sharp as a VHS tape - and theatre-quality audio. Both Triple Play models are home theatre-ready, featuring outputs for surround sound audio. When connected to a DolbyÆ Digital or DTSÆ Digital Surroundô decoder, users can enjoy exhilarating digital audio for a true theatre-like experience. Additionally, the player features fast, smooth motion scan (in 5 speeds up to 100 times), picture zoom, and auto switching field/frame still. Depending on the content of the disc, users can select from up to eight different language soundtracks, 32 subtitle languages, and multiple camera angles. The Auto Gain Control feature maintains a uniform volume level when switching between the built-in components. Front and rear A/V input jacks allow easy connection to other home theatre components like receivers or decoders. A new, illuminated Light Towerô remote control lights up for easy operation in darkened rooms. To keep specially-encoded, mature television programs from the eyes of children, this model also incorporates the ""V-Chip"" parental guidance system. All Panasonic TV/VCR combinations are assembled in the United States. For more information, visit www.panasonic.com. Category: TV, DVD Players
