Paramount Pictures announced it will work with Land Rover and RealNetworksÆ, Inc. to present ""Tomb Raider Live,"" the first up-close look at ""Tomb Raider,"" one of next summer's most anticipated films. This event will take place live on Thursday, November 9, 2000 from the set of the ""Tomb Raider"" production currently filming at Pinewood Studios in London. This interactive event, broadcast exclusively in RealNetworks' RealVideoÆ 8 format, will start with a tour of the film's magnificent sets. Users will then be able watch an interview with the film's director Simon West and pose questions with key members of the ""Tomb Raider"" production staff, take an exclusive look behind-the-scenes and have an opportunity to win a copy of the new ""Tomb Raider: Chronicles"" console game from Eidos Interactive. Paramount Pictures' eagerly anticipated screen version of ""Tomb Raider,"" starring Academy AwardÆ winner Angelina Jolie, is directed by Simon West (""The General's Daughter,"" ""Con Air""). The live-action feature film is inspired by the most popular interactive video character in history - Lara Croft. Beautiful and brainy, Lara is the heroine of Eidos Interactive's phenomenally successful ""Tomb Raider"" video game series. The film is produced by Lawrence Gordon (""Die Hard,"" ""Predator,"" ""48 Hours""), Lloyd Levin (""Boogie Nights"") and Colin Wilson (""Jurassic Park: The Lost World""). Charles Cornwall, Eidos' Chief Executive Officer, is the executive producer, and Bobby Klein is the co-producer. The screenplay is by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, and Laeta Kalogridis and Simon West. ""Tomb Raider"" is being co-financed by Paramount Pictures and Mutual Film Company. Paramount Pictures will release the film theatrically in the U.S. and Canada in the summer of 2001. Mutual Film Company will distribute internationally in Germany, Japan, Italy, and Korea through its local partners, and in the rest of the world through Paramount/UIP.
