The MAX 8 Coax, the latest in a new generation of products being released this year, is designed to protect connected home A/V systems that utilize coaxial cable lines.The MAX 8 Coax Surge Protector represents an exclusive breakthrough by Panamax in the form of SurgeGate Plusô circuitry. SurgeGate Plus circuitry is an enhanced ""power monitoring"" system that protects AC equipment against prolonged over-voltages, as well as surges. In the event of a prolonged over-voltage, SurgeGate circuitry will disconnect power to equipment, then automatically reconnect it once power has returned to a safe level. The ""Plus"" refers to its ability to also protect against prolonged under-voltages (brownouts). This circuitry automatically disconnects power when either event is detected, then reconnects power once it has returned to a safe level. For coaxial line connections, the unitís shielded Signal Perfectô circuitry with solid-state components provides maximum safeguarding and the lowest interference levels possible. Gold-plated coaxial connectors help to optimize cable TV (and HDTV) reception.The MAX 8 Coaxís innovative design includes eight protected AC outlets, all spaced to accommodate transformers for maximum flexibility. Four outlets are ""always on"" and four are ""switched."" The unit also comes with EMI/RFI noise filtration. Four diagnostic lights indicate protection status, proper grounding, improperly wired outlets, and unsafe voltage events.
