Reflecting the increasing importance of online business within the consumer technology industry, the International CES will feature the latest in e-commerce through keynote addresses, executive briefings and exhibits. The 2001 CES will be held Saturday, January 6 through Tuesday, January 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. ""There's so much more to CES than just the latest products in consumer technology,"" said Karen Chupka, Vice President of Events and Conferences for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). ""We attract the top industry executives, financial analysts, venture capitalists and retail executives, all of whom look to network and learn about e-commerce opportunities with the programs and exhibits we provide."" During the next two years, online shoppers expect to purchase approximately $41 billion worth of consumer electronics products. Of this amount, $18.5 billion or 45 percent is likely to be purchased online, according to CEA Market Research.To accommodate the e-commerce interest among attendees, the 2001 CES will feature an Executive Perspective address from Barry Schuler, President of America Online's Interactive Services Group. Schuler is regarded by many in the industry as a leader in the development of interactive multimedia products for the home and workplace. He will deliver his keynote on Monday, January 8, 2001 from 8:30am to 10am in the Las Vegas Hilton Theater. Interested attendees also will want to check out the E-Commerce Pavilion, located in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with experts who can offer advice on how to increase sales, streamline business operations and automate customer service. Exhibitors in the E-Commerce Pavilion will include Allmystuff Inc., E-connect, EZ Inc., Information Management Consultants, Internet Communication Networks, Kview, Liquidation.com, LiveProducts Division of e-SIM Ltd., NUEWEB Interactive, Planet3.net and ServiceBench.com.
