MTX Receives Encore For Hi-Fi Grand Prix Awards

Three MTX home audio products were honored this year for their outstanding performance, cosmetics and value-to-price relationship. The winners were the MP52 A/V surround speaker system, the Sub15 subwoofer and the 620CE in-ceiling speaker. The MTX MP52 A/V surround speaker system consists of five Blueprint Series home loudspeakers that may be used for front primary, center channel and surround sound speakers. Each high performance MP52 houses two magnetically shielded 5 1/4-inch butyl surround, polypropylene cone woofers and one 1-inch PEF Neodymium tweeter. This feature allows the subwoofer to be driven to a much higher SPL level during high amplitude peaks without breakup or coloration of the information being reproduced. Further contributing to the classy feel of the MTX Sub15 is the passive radiator, a device that tunes the low frequency response, eliminating whistling noises often inherent by ports and ensuring powerful low frequency reproduction.Concert-quality sound is a reality in virtually any area of the home with the MTX 620CE two-way, in-ceiling speaker. This speaker uses a 6 1/2-inch polypropylene woofer and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The MTX 620CEís design also allows for great off-axis response, which is important when optimum speaker placement is not permitted.
