Theta Creates Leading-Edge Digital Home Cinema

Joins With Other Top Manufacturers To Create Must-See DLPô-Based Super System At 2001 CES

3-Jan-01

Theta Digital, long acclaimed America's leader in digital technology, joins with a top video projector and speaker manufacturer to create a state-of-the-art Theta Home Cinema at the Golden Nugget Hotel during the 2001 International Consumer Electronics Show. The digital display, which features several Theta components, including the new Citadel Mono Amplifier, will deliver outstanding audio performance, and a video display that meets or exceeds the quality of professionally-distributed films. Video projection will be provided by the Power 6SX DLPô Projector from Digital Projection, Inc., which uses the same award-winning DLP technology that has been used to show the movie industry the power and capability of digital cinema. A second video display, anchored by an Electrograph plasma screen, features the first high resolution flat panel, direct-digital plasma model available. Theta will be feeding both displays direct digital signals from its David II and Carmen DVD/CD Transports, which feature Thetaís unique 4:2:2 digital video output (and the DTVís progressive format of 480p) that is especially effective at enhancing picture quality on digital video projectors and plasma screens. On the audio side, Theta's Home Cinema features seven Wilson WATT Puppies by Wilson Audio, as well as a Wilson Watch center channel, and REL subwoofers. Theta audio provides the electronics with leading-edge components that include the new Citadel Mono Amplifier, rated for 400 watts into 8 ohms with fully balanced differential and zero-feedback circuitry, the open architecture Casablanca II Music and Cinema Controller and the legendary Dreadnaught Power Amplifier. The Theta Home Cinema can be seen along with Thetaís other outstanding products in the Shoal Creek Room of the Golden Nugget Hotel, second floor of the South Tower, January 6-9.
