Leading Chinese Television Manufacturers XOCECO And Skyworth To Showcase Progressive Scan TVs Powered By Sageís FLI2200 Display Processors At CES

Sage Inc. (NASDAQ: SAGI), a leading provider of digital display processors for consumer technology and PC-display products, announced that Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic Co. Ltd. (XOCECO), a major Chinese electronics manufacturer, and Skyworth Group Company, a leader in consumer electronics, network and communication products, have incorporated the FLI family of display processors into their next generation progressive scan TVs. By implementing Sage technology, XOCECO and Skyworth are able to create significant video enhancements to their digitally enhanced TVs by enabling high quality video at reduced systems costs. Following on the heels of the opening of its new China office, XECECO and Skyworthís selection of the FLI display processors demonstrates Sageís traction in the growing Chinese consumer electronics market.Chinaís consumer electronics market provides a fast-growing market segment for Sage, with an estimated growth from 36 million color TVs manufactured in 2000 to 45 million units in 2004 (source: Gartner Dataquest). XOCECO incorporated the FLI2200 into its 32-inch progressive scan, HD-ready TV set (HT-3281B), which offers sharp images, no flicker and wide viewing angles. The monitor also boasts four-line comb filtering, motion compensation and picture-in-picture (PIP). The FLI2200 boasts a number of industry-first features including proprietary Diagonal Correlational Deinterlacing (DCDi). This per-pixel edge-adaptive interpolation prevents the appearance of staircasing or jaggies that are otherwise highly visible along every edge when motion video (such as sports or music videos) is de-interlaced using other means of interpolation. DCDi does not require a frame buffer, hence can be used as the primary means of de-interlacing for a low cost memory-less configuration of the FLI2200.
