DTSÆ announced that effective January 15, 2001, Valley Entertainment will be the official distributor of DTS 5.1 music CDs and DVD-Audio music recordings produced under the company-owned DTS Entertainment record label. Previously, 5.1 CD distribution had been handled by Image Entertainment. Currently, there are over 115 DTS 5.1 music CDs available, covering a wide variety of genres, from pop/rock mega-hits such as the Eagleís ""Hell Freezes Over"" and Stingís ""Brand New Day,"" to classical masterpieces like Tchaikovskyís Symphony #4 and Verdiís Aida. This February, DTS Entertainment will also introduce its first DVD-Audio music recordings that will include MLPô multichannel and stereo tracks for DVD-Audio players, plus a DTS ""Master Quality"" multichannel soundtrack and a DolbyÆ Digital stereo track (for compatibility on 12 million existing DVD-Video players.)
