AIWA Makes Home Theatre A Snap With Innovative New Systems

Home Theatre Options Include All-In-One Compact Systems And Receiver-Based Home-Theatre-In-A-Box Solutions Featuring Dolby Digital And Exclusive New D.I.N.A. Amplifier Technology

Consumers looking for a quick, easy path to home theatre will find a range of solutions from AIWA this year. The companyís new product line-up includes both compact all-in-one systems and receiver/speaker packages that provide the ease of a one-box purchase combined with the latest technologies, including DolbyÆ Digital surround circuitry. Every system includes all the audio ingredients needed to create a home theatre, including speakers. For those who prefer an all-in-one approach, AIWA offers a pair of home theatre shelf systems that combine amplifier, CD player and tuner in one compact unit and come with a full complement of home theatre speakers. For separate components fans, AIWAís three receiver-based systems combine a component A/V receiver - with both Dolby Digital and DTSÆ Digital Surroundô - with five speakers and a powered subwoofer. All five systems feature AIWAís exclusive new D.I.N.A. (Dynamic Integrated Neo Amplifier) technology that delivers greater dynamic range, increased headroom, lower distortion and a wider soundstage. AIWAís top home theatre shelf system is the XS-DS70 that features unique new styling. The brushed silver main unit has a softly curved front panel with a motorized section - in aqua - that rises to provide access to secondary controls. The system includes Dolby Digital surround, D.I.N.A. technology, power output of 60 watts x 5, a three-CD changer and an AM/FM digital synthesized tuner. It comes with six speakers, including a 60-watt powered subwoofer. The XS-DS70 will be available in April at a suggested retail price of $470. AIWAís other home theatre shelf system is the XS-DS50, with sophisticated styling that combines a brushed silver finish with black panels set off by a blue fluorescent display. The XS-DS50 offers Dolby Digital, D.I.N.A. technology and 70 watts for the left and right channels and 25 watts for the center and each rear channel. Thereís also a three-CD changer, dual cassette deck and an AM/FM digital synthesized tuner. The system comes with a pair of three-way main speakers, plus center and rear channel speakers. The XS-DS50 will be available in April at a suggested retail price of $350. For those who prefer a receiver-based system, AIWA offers three packages. Each is based on an AV receiver with Dolby Digital, DTS and D.I.N.A. technology. In addition, every system includes a powered subwoofer. The HT-D980, AIWAís top-end system, includes the AV-D98 AV receiver with a power output of 120 watts x 5, three S-Video inputs/four outputs, three digital inputs plus one digital output and 5.1-channel analog inputs for DVD-Audio playback. The system also includes five satellite speakers and an 8-inch, 100-watt powered subwoofer. The HT-D980will be available in May and carry a suggested retail price of $600. The HT-D780 home theatre-in-a-box system comes with the AV-D78 AV receiver with a power output of 100 watts x 5, three digital inputs and 5.1-channel analog inputs. For speakers, the system includes five satellite speakers and an 8-inch 50-watt powered subwoofer. The system will be available in May at a suggested retail price of $470. AIWAís lowest-priced receiver-based system is the HT-D580, available in April at a suggested retail price of $350. It includes the AV-D58 A/V receiver with a power output of 80 watts x 5 and three digital inputs, along with five satellite speakers and an 8-inch 50-watt powered subwoofer.
