Rotel Introduces New 10 Series Stereo Components

Rotel, long recognized as an industry benchmark for affordable, high performance home theatre and high fidelity components, unveiled a striking line of audio and video components incorporating the first cosmetic design changes in ten years.The 10 Series components featuring the new look include integrated, power and pre-amplifiers, a DVD-Audio/Video player, a surround sound receiver and an exciting table-top remote control. Power AmplifiersThree new two-channel amplifiers, the RB-1050, RB-1070 and RB-1080, showcase Rotel's engineering expertise at its finest, further enhancing the company's power amp lineup with the recently introduced RMB-1095 and RMB-1075 five-channel amplifiers. Rotel-made Torroid transformer power supplies, British-made BHC slit-foil storage capacitors and heavy-duty binding posts all provide extraordinary performance and superior sound quality at a modest price. The RB-1080 features 200 watts per channel, the RB-1070 offers 130 watts and the RB-1050 delivers 60 watts per channel. Each model incorporates 12-volt trigger inputs for remote control on/off operations. Integrated AmplifiersAn exceptional performer, the RA-1060 integrated amplifier combines the best of Rotel's traditional audiophile-oriented engineering and simplified operation with a remarkably intuitive front panel design. With sufficient power (60 watts RMS per channel) and high damping factor, the RA-1060 provides accurate, room-filling volume with almost all loudspeakers. The Rotel system remote adds armchair convenience. Power supply duties are handled by a Rotel-made Torroid transformer and the remarkable British-made Aerovox T-Network Capacitor for accurate dynamic signal tracking. Remote speaker terminals, six line-level inputs with independent Listen/Record selectors, headphone jack, contour control, and a 12-volt ""trigger"" circuit complete an extensive list of features. Flexibility and convenience highlight the upscale RA-1070 integrated amplifier. Stereo TunerReceiving high quality AM and FM broadcasts is easy with the RT-1080 AM/FM/FM Stereo Tuner as it is an outstanding combination of radio frequency (RF) performance, Rotel sound quality and convenience. In addition to its ability to excite even the most jaded audiophile, the RT-1080 is also the perfect RF source for a custom-installed system, thanks to a bi-directional RS-232 computer-style interface, dual antenna inputs and total remote control capability. The RT-1080 also includes RDS (Radio Data System) enhancements to make FM broadcasting even more enjoyable. RDS displays station call letters (functions determined by your local radio station), for example, and the type of program material being broadcasted. Customers can even search for new stations that carry the programming they want most. Thirty direct-access presets allow easy ""favorite station"" programming for quick recall. A variety of tuning modes and built-in compensation for U.S. and European FM broadcast standards make this tuner truly universal. The performance advantages of a fully separate component system have always attracted audiophiles, and Rotel continues to satisfy them with two new preamplifiers. PreamplifiersOptimized for the real-world audiophile who demands flexibility and sound quality at an affordable price, the RC-1070 preamplifier delivers an extraordinary level of satisfaction. Featuring traditional Rotel engineering prowess, this unit features a power supply based on a custom-made Torroid transformer. The RC-1070 provides six line-level inputs in addition to a carefully engineered phono input for moving-magnet and high output moving-coil cartridges. A convenient contour control allows easy and repeatable timbre adjustments. With two sets of main outputs, a 12-volt ""trigger"" jack, and a Rotel-system remote control for both the preamplifier and a companion Rotel CD or DVD player, the RC-1070 brings the flexibility and sound quality of Rotel separates within easy reach. The RC-1090 preamplifier is the latest expression of Rotel's continuing dedication to providing the finest components for traditional two-channel music reproduction. Beginning with a custom Rotel-made Torroid transformer, the low output impedance power supply makes extensive use of ultra-fast T-Network capacitors. Circuits for each channel follow Symmetrical Circuit Trace strategy to insure precise timing, pinpoint imaging and accurate soundstaging. Rigorous parts selection includes metal-foil resistors, polystyrene and polypropylene signal capacitors. The output stage is particularly noteworthy for its high current, low impedance design which provides substantial current reserves for driving even the most difficult interconnect/amplifier combinations. The RC-1090 boasts eight inputs, including a low noise, high overload MM/MC phono stage and a balanced line-level input with XLR connectors. The RDV-1080's audio board is further sub-divided so that each channel is isolated from the others. Developed with the latest LSIs (large scale integrated circuits), the RDV-1080 handles digital-to-analog conversion of even 24-bit audio data sampled at 192 kHz. Jitter, a time-based inaccuracy that often degrades performance in less sophisticated designs, is virtually eliminated by the RDV-1080's advanced D/A converters, fully-shielded reclocking circuitry and totally separate digital and analog power supplies.
