Like its big sister the 1250 MKII, the new Sonamp 1230 amplifier offers Sonanceís signature high quality features with slightly less power and at a considerably lower price point. The Leader in Architectural Audioô, Sonance is continuing its tradition of offering high performing, reliable and versatile amplifiers with the introduction of the 1230. A 12-channel amplifier that provides 30 watts per channel, the 1230 meets the system needs of most consumers because it allows them to have the benefits of an amplifier that can power the whole house without a big price tag.""The Sonamp 1230 is similar to the 1250 MKII and Sonanceís other amps in that its technology is proven to deliver quality to our customers,"" said Chip Brown, Chief Operating Officer, Sonance. The 1230 has protection circuitry and super-low frequency filtration for all bus inputs to protect in-wall volume controls. This means that all of its inputs are thermal and voltage-regulated so the amplifier will not overheat and therefore shut down. And like the 1250 MKII, the 1230 has easy-to-adjust level controls for faster system installation and set up. The space-saving unit can be rack mounted, eliminating the need for a shelf. The 1230 has defeatable auto-on circuitry, or DC triggering to turn on the amplifier. This enables users to connect the amplifier as they desire - whether the system is designed to turn on the amplifier automatically if it senses a signal, if it needs to be turned on manually, or if it turns on from a user-controlled DC trigger. Twelve channels of fully discrete output stages provide 30 watts per channel at 8 ohms or 45 watts per channel at 4 ohms. Packing a big punch in a small package, the 1230 measures 19 x 5 1/4 x 14 1/4 inches (WHD). Designed to fit any home and even some light commercial applications, the Sonamp 1230 retails for $1,200 and will be available in the first quarter of 2001.For more information, visit Sonance on the Web at www.sonance.com.
