The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) will give the building industry a first-hand look at the newest trends in home theatre and home networking by showcasing the Home of Electronic Lifestylesô at the International Builders' Show, February 9-14, 2001 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The Home of Electronic Lifestyles is a cutting-edge example of a fully-automated home. It features a central control panel that operates all applicable systems including lighting, security, heating, cooling, whole-house audio, video, drapes and more. CEDIA's involvement at the International Builders' Show is intended to bring awareness to the importance of consulting with a professional designer/installer before home construction and/or remodeling begins. ""As home automation moves further into the mainstream, it is more important than ever for custom electronic designer/installers and builders to work hand-in-hand during the planning and design stages of new home and home remodeling projects,"" said Billilynne Keller, CEDIA's Executive Director.""We want builders and architects to know there is a technological partner available to them for home theatre and home networking needs. Just as a plumber or electrician would be brought in during the design stages of any new home or remodeling project, so should a professional designer/installer,"" said Keller. The Home of Electronic Lifestyles will be located on the International Builders' Show trade show floor at booth #136 in the TecHomExpo area. CEDIA staff will be on hand to discuss how custom electronics are being incorporated into the design of new and remodeled homes. Following the International Builders' Show, the Home of Electronic Lifestyles will travel to other home-related trade shows in the United States. For more information on CEDIA, visit the association's Web site at www.cedia.org.
