Philips Introduces Its Brilliance Power Multimedia System With NXT SurfaceSoundô Technology

Philips Speaker Systems of Belgium has announced that it has introduced a new multimedia multichannel speaker system using NXT's unique SurfaceSoundô flat panel speaker technology.The Brilliance Power from Philips is an active 80-watt (RMS) hi-fi multichannel multimedia PC speaker system. It provides high power for the most intense game effects or music with concert hall realism. Brilliance Power is designed to bring the hi-fi quality sound of home theatre to personal computer users.Brilliance Power's other features include a bass driver with a unique suspension design, wireless remote control, digital sound control and an input selector for either a four-channel input for a sound card or two stereo inputs for other audio-visual devices. The system is also magnetically-shielded to prevent harmful distortion to monitors or other devices.Steven Vermeulen, General Manager of Philips Speaker Systems, commented, ""We could see the business potential of NXT technology back in 1998. We took the basic physics and math of the NXT technology and looked at how we could optimize these to differentiate us from the run-of-the mill multimedia panel speakers.
