Philips New Line Of Digital Receivers Provides The Complete Home Theatre Solution

Philips Consumer Electronics demonstrated an expanded line of feature-packed home theatre receivers at the 2001 CES. Headlining this group of home theatre packages is the Philips MX990D, which includes a receiver, DVD-Video player and six-speaker set, and allows consumers to upgrade to a complete digital home theatre system by just adding a TV. The MX965 home theatre package features Philipsí proprietary wOOxô speaker technology, combining advanced electronic circuitry with a dual-suspension bass radiator to produce strong, yet tight, distortion-free bass at all volume levels. The MX955 comes complete with a DolbyÆ Digital receiver and six loudspeakers, including a 50-watt subwoofer. The MX990D is currently available. The MX990D (MSRP $699) includes a dual laser DVD-Video player providing DVD-Video, Video CD, CD, CD-R and CD-RW playback. This home theatre package consists of a 5 x 100-watt Dolby Digital receiver, bundled with five full-range, two way compact satellite speakers and a 50-watt powered subwoofer. Front right, front left, center and left and right surround speakers provide the wrap-around effect of a movie theatre while the subwoofer enhances low frequency bass for added realism. MX990D Key Features - Stereo Downmix - This feature allows a Dolby Digital, DTSÆ Digital Surroundô or multichannel digital audio signal to be processed into a normal stereo for digital output.
