Konka USA, Ltd., the first high tech Chinese TV manufacturer to enter the U.S., introduced some of the world's most advanced and affordable high definition (HD) and digital television (DTV) technology at the 2001 CES. On display was a standard definition set, an HDTV/DTV-ready set and a digital HDTV set, as well as their HDTV decoder/receiver. Konka's high definition line includes the 32-inch SR3289U, which is a progressive SDTV-ready analog set with an impressive 100 percent flat screen. The 32-inch SR3289U is compatible with HDTV 1080i mode displays and has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Another high definition picture tube that Konka showcased was the SD3286U. The SD3286U is a standard 32-inch, 100 percent flat digital HDTV and is both digital and analog TV signal capable. For further enhanced picture clarity and color, Konka's 100 percent flat high definition, digital HDTV was also among the high definition products shown at CES. The HD3498U is a 34-inch HDTV set with a 1080i mode display and a 16:9 aspect ratio. For exceptional viewing quality, the Dynamic Focus Circuitry feature improves on-screen corner focus and definition. All three sets feature picture-in-picture (PIP), multichannel stereo (MTS) and a 181-channel, cable-ready tuner.""Our new offerings in the HDTV arena combine quality products with outstanding affordability,"" said Wendy Wu, Executive Vice President, Konka USA, Ltd. ""We believe this winning combination will enable us to expand our market share in the coming months."" To complement the HDTV-ready models in the product mix, Konka also showcased the HD001, an HDTV decoder/receiver that receives and decodes all 18 ATSC formats and displays digital programming on digital-compatible TVs such as the SR3289U. The HD001 features 1080i/60Hz RGB multiplexed video output, 480i S-Video output and coaxial S/PDIF digital audio output for DolbyĆ Digital or PCM. It sports 2-69 channels of 8VSB digital terrestrial reception and Dolby Digital, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 audio decoding. For more information, visit www.konkausa.com.
