Terry Bratcher has been appointed Director, Game Developer Relations for DolbyĆ Laboratories, Inc. In this new position, Mr. Bratcher reports to Richard Hockenbrock, Vice President, Licensing Operations.This appointment marks Dolby's increased commitment to the Games Initiative. Mr. Bratcher will oversee the activities of the Game Developer Relations Groups located in San Francisco, the United Kingdom, and Japan, and the creation of the Dolby Virtual Incubator Group (VIP).""Terry's extensive background in bringing new and cutting-edge technologies to the games space will serve us well, as Dolby positions itself as the leader in gaming sound,"" Hockenbrock said.Mr. Bratcher has served as a consultant to the International Digital Software Association, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Nintendo America, Sega, Electronic Arts, eBay and Loeb & Loeb LLP, where he headed an industry-wide anti-piracy initiative. Before joining Dolby full time, he served Dolby as a consultant, helping to organize the company's gaming business strategy. Previously, Mr. Bratcher had been Director, ISV Relations for Cirrus Logic where he oversaw the implementation of technologies related to 3D graphics as well as 3D positional sound in computer games. Mr. Bratcher also held the position of Director, Games Software Development for Sigma Designs where his group pioneered the use of MPEG and full motion video in games.From 1994 through 1996, Mr. Bratcher served on the Board of Directors of the Open MPEG consortium, and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Computer Game Developers Association in 1998.
