21-Feb-01

Marantz America announced the introduction of its new DV7100 DVD-Video Player, the company's first-ever progressive scan DVD player. The DV7100 is designed for ultimate video and audio performance in every respect, incorporating a wealth of advanced technologies such as 10-bit, 27MHz video processing and 24-bit/96kHz audio DACs. The DV7100 can also output a true 96kHz/24-bit digital audio signal, and it incorporates many additional high-end performance and convenience features that make it the ideal source component for the finest home entertainment systems. Engineered For Exceptional Video And Audio Performance The Marantz DV7100 features progressive scan component video output to deliver the highest quality DVD video reproduction available. When connected to a 480p progressive scan-compatible TV or display device, scan lines are virtually eliminated for remarkably smooth and realistic image quality, with stunning clarity, resolution and color accuracy. Complementing this state-of-the-art display capability, the DV7100 utilizes a host of advanced digital video technologies, such as 10-bit video D/A conversion with 27MHz filtering to assure extremely high resolution image quality with an improved video signal-to-noise ratio, and state-of-the-art optics and disc mechanisms for precise data retrieval and ultra-reliable disc playback. The DV7100 also includes component video, S-Video and two sets of composite video outputs, enabling it to be connected to any A/V receiver, TV set or video display device. Along with unsurpassed video quality, the Marantz DV7100 is engineered for superlative audio performance. The DV7100 features 96kHz/24-bit D/A converters, and can output a true 96/24 digital audio signal (unlike the 96kHz/20-bit or downconverted 48kHz/24-bit resolution of many DVD players) to achieve exceptional sonic accuracy, with wider dynamic range and extraordinary resolution of low-level sonic detail. The DV7100 offers DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ Digital Surroundô compatibility, with digital audio outputs for connection to Dolby Digital or DTS-equipped home theatre receivers, preamp/processors and surround processors. In addition to DVD-Video disc, 96/24 audio disc and CD playback, the Marantz DV7100 is also playback-compatible with CD-R, CD-RW and Video CD discs. The DV7100 features premium quality parts and construction for unsurpassed video and audio quality, with enhancements such as Marantz's exclusive HDAM High Definition Amplifier Module analog audio output stages for wide bandwidth, low noise and exceptional dynamic range, specially-selected components in the audio and video circuit paths for maximum signal purity, heavy duty mechanical construction with a metal alloy front panel and many additional refinements. In common with all Marantz DVD-Video players, the DV7100 offers users a full complement of viewing options and interactive capabilities, such as multiple camera angles and aspect ratios, a choice of language tracks and subtitles and parental control. The DV7100 also includes a wide variety of convenience functions including slow motion, freeze frame, multi-speed forward and reverse scan, chapter and track search functions and much more. All functions are easily operated using the DV7100's full-function remote control and intuitive multi-language on-screen menu. The DV7100 also features a D-BUS remote connection that allows linkage to other Marantz components for integrated system operation. The Marantz DV7100 carries a suggested retail price of $899.99 and is now available. For more information, visit Marantz America on the Web at www.marantz.com.
